CLEANING

Cleaning of oil separators

DELTA PETROL offers legally mandated cleaning of oil separators as well as the legally required signing of an annual oil separator cleaning contract.

Over time, separators become filled with oils, greases, oily water, and sludge, making at least one annual cleaning mandatory. It is required to keep separators clean, in accordance with environmental regulations, and cleaning is recommended not only annually but also in the following extraordinary situations: if you have slow drainage, five or more centimeters of oil on the water surface, or twenty or more centimeters of accumulated sludge and sediment.

Our specialized vehicle, the “Oil Master,” performs on-site recycling of separator contents and is the only vehicle of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The treated water discharged from the built-in dynamic separator on the vehicle contains an oil residue of only 10 mg per liter, or 10 PPM of free, unstably emulsified oil. The legal limit for discharge into an industrial water recipient according to the latest regulations is 20 PPM. The quality level of the water treatment (recycling) process is monitored by an electronic device that measures the oil residue content in the water.

The collected waste (recycled waste from the separator) from the compartments of the tanker truck is transported to the hazardous waste disposal station within Delta Petrol’s premises, where it is further treated in an environmentally appropriate manner. A contract is secured for the final disposal in Austria, since Bosnia and Herzegovina still does not have an ecological incinerator for this type of waste.
